WPP-Owned VML Buys Digital Agency Qais in Singapore

Already in U.S. and Europe, Kansas City Shop's Footprint Expands to Asia

Kansas City-based digital agency VML is expanding its reach into Asia, announcing Tuesday that the WPP Group-owned agency has acquired a majority stake in Qais Consulting.

Qais is a full-service digital agency headquartered in Singapore, which also has an office in Mumbai. It will now be called VML Qais, and operate as part of Y&R Asia. Clients include Standard Chartered Bank, Sony Electronics, Sony Pictures, Hilton Hotels, and Tata Motors.

VML was founded in 1992 and clients include Colgate-Palmolive, Dell , English Premier League, Gatorade, Kellogg, Microsoft, SAP, Southwest Airlines, Western Union and Xerox. The new Asian operation joins existing VML offices in New York, Seattle, London, Milan, Geneva and São Paulo.

"Expanding VML operations to Singapore, Southeast Asia and India enables us to better serve our growing roster of global clients, while further expanding the VML footprint in the key markets in Asia," Matt Anthony, VML global chairman and chief global digital officer of Y&R said in a statement.
