Hoping to help nonprofits and charities, Turn Inc. has launched Turn Make a Difference, a program to provide these organizations with free ad impressions, ad serving and media fees for their online campaigns. The effort began this month, breast cancer awareness month, with a campaign for breast cancer awareness and will provide an estimated 2 million ad impressions, thanks to Turn, MediaMind and Range Online Media.
Turn is a Redwood City, Calif.-based demand-side platform, which allows advertisers to bid on display ad space across multiple ad exchanges.
The company plans to choose a different charity every quarter, providing free media impressions across a variety of sources as well as donating resources to traffic and optimize the campaigns. It is seeking nominations for potential charities online, where companies can submit their favorites by completing the statement, "My favorite charity is making a difference by ..." and filling out a short form.
"Social responsibility is an important part of our culture at Turn," said Bill Demas, president-CEO, in announcing the program. "The Turn Make a Difference program will support a number of charities and worthy causes—like breast cancer awareness—helping to get their important messages heard through power of digital advertising."
