A group of marketing and media executives is getting together to host a bowl-a-thon to raise money for breast cancer.
Bowling for Breastcancer.org will take place at Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge in Manhattan on Feb. 11 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. For a $5,000 donation, your bowling team of up to eight people can enjoy hors d'oeuvres, open bar, entertainment and a silent auction. Bowling team members can raise additional money online by getting friends and family to support them.
The lead sponsor of the event is ING, with Arbitron, Nielsen Co., Aperture and WebMD also taking part. Other companies are also committing sponsorship dollars.
Richy Glassberg, exec VP-TV Guide Media Sales, is one of the organizing committee chairs, along with Lynn Bolger, exec VP-advertising solutions, comScore, and Dr. Marisa Weiss, president and founder of Breastcancer.org. Advertising Age is among the sponsors of the event, and Ad Age Publisher Allison Arden is a member of the organizing committee.
