The Advertising Club of Young Professionals will be continuing its networking and outreach efforts at the annual New York Cares Hands On Day on April 24. That Saturday, the group will join 5,000 New York Cares volunteers to give the city a spring "greening."
This year, our site assignment is McCarren Park in Brooklyn. We will be working in areas that surround the entrances to the park, painting benches, garbage cans and railing,s as well as raking and removing leaves and spreading woodchips around trees.
To support our efforts, we're asking friends, family and co-workers, as well as other people within the advertising and marketing community, to support us by making a donation to New York Cares in honor of our service. Your donation will help us create 11,000 projects this year, through which New York Cares volunteers will assist unemployed adults re-enter the workforce, prepare meals for the homeless and visit lonely nursing home residents, among other charitable activities and events. To get involved, please register and/or donate to our team's website.
New York Cares is New York's leading volunteer organization. It works with more than 850 nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the five boroughs, touching the lives of more than 335,000 disadvantaged New Yorkers every year.
I would like to thank the Advertising Club of New York as well as steering committee members Jessica Peltz, Dina Gold, Rachel Goldflam and the Advertising Club's Julia Stapleton, who have helped me with this event.
The ad club's Young Professionals is a group of ambitious, philanthropic and outgoing professionals 30 years old and younger, who come from all areas of advertising and marketing, and who are on-track to become tomorrow's leaders.
We thank you for your support and hope to see you there.
Aileen Bulanadi is team captain for the project for the Advertising Club of Young Professionals of New York.
