MediaCom Works With Dress for Success

Agency helps raise more than $1 million with worldwide gala

Doug Checkeris, CEO of MediaCom North America, recently served as chairman of Dress for Success' annual "Something to Share" Worldwide Gala in New York, which raised more than $1 million for the nonprofit organization.

The WPP organization partnered with Dress for Success, an organization that helps women in need return to the work force and rebuild their lives, two years ago. Since then, MediaCom has helped secure millions of dollars in donated media time, participated in fundraising efforts for the group's galas, organized several companywide volunteer days at Dress for Success facilities and established an internship for the organization's clients.

"As chair of this year's event, I was overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people around me," Mr. Checkeris said in a statement. "From our clients, to our media company partners, to business and personal friends, there was a willingness, even an eagerness, to help. Given the economic climate that we find ourselves in, this is no small gesture."
