Ms. Kruse spent five years at Home Depot, where she was most recently senior manager of multicultural marketing and oversaw projects such as the launch of a Hispanic-targeted range of paint colors called "Colores Origenes."

Ms. Kruse's new job will include working with Myrka Dellanos, a Spanish-language TV news personality signed by Rooms to Go in February to help raise the brand's profile in an ad campaign. Rooms to Go has showrooms in eight states, including heavily Hispanic areas such as Texas and Florida.

Roger Adams, Home Depot's senior VP-chief marketing officer, said the company is looking for someone to fill the multicultural job but hasn't hired anyone yet.
