Lois Curren, exec VP-series and movie development, Viacom's MTV, has been upped to the new post of exec VP-series entertainment, overseeing most of the channel's lineup and all Los Angeles-based production. Curren has been a key force on such hits as "The Osbournes." She reports to Brian Graden, president-entertainment at MTV and VH1.

Zanne Devine has been appointed president of production at Beacon Pictures. Devine will report to CEO Charlie Lyons and Chairman Armyan Bernstein. Devine has served stints as president of the Kennedy/Marshall Co. and president of production at Ovation Entertainment. Beacon has a five-year co-financing/distribution deal at Walt Disney Studios.
