Craig Plestis has been named senior VP-alternative programs and development for NBC; he had previously been VP-alternative programs. Plestis assumes day-to-day control of unscripted development and production, reporting to Jeff Gaspin, who now runs NBC Universal Cable Entertainment & Cross-Platform Strategy.

Jim Whitaker has been elevated to president of production at Universal-based Imagine Films. Whitaker, an 11-year Imagine veteran, most recently was exec VP-production. He's shepherded such theatrical releases as "8 Mile" and "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps."
