CBS this week launched “The Courier,” a micro-series of seven installments, sponsored by General Motors Corp.’s Pontiac division, that revolves around a man risking his life to rescue his kidnapped wife. The series will feature the automaker’s Torrent SUV in segments that run from 40 seconds to one minute in length, and appear during an episode of “CSI: Miami,” “Criminal Minds” and “Cold Case,” as well as online and made available for cellphones. A Torrent commercial will play immediately after each episode. | James Bond, to be played by Daniel Craig, will drive Aston Martin’s new DBS in “Casino Royale,” which is slated to hit theaters in November. Ford Motor Co., whose vehicles were seen in the most recent 007 installment, “Die Another Day,” in 2002, is in the midst of a three-picture deal with the Bond franchise's producers, Eon Productions.
