Papa John’s is promoting the release of Universal Studios’ “King Kong” DVD with a limited-time "Kong-size" pizza that’s 30% larger than its traditional large and boasts bigger toppings. A $3 off coupon for the DVD is part of the offer. | A survey of 133 national advertisers, conducted by the Association of National Advertisers and Forrester Research, found that 78% think TV advertising is less effective than it was two years ago and that advertisers are looking to find alternatives to traditional TV spots, with 61% interested in branded entertainment within shows, 55% looking at TV program sponsorships, 45% looking at online video ads and 44% for product placement. | Burger King, Kellogg/Keebler, ConAgra, Wal-Mart and Airheads Candy will co-promote 20th Century Fox’s CGI toon “Ice Age 2: The Meltdown,” which will be released March 31. | Ice Cube will host the second annual “AutoRox” awards show, which celebrates America’s passion for cars. The 90-minute special, to be taped April 7 at the Fremont Experience in downtown Las Vegas, is set to air on Spike TV April 18. In addition to presenting awards for best luxury car, hottest exotic, convertible, sports car, SUVs and others, the rapper will perform tracks from his upcoming album.
