MPG Entertainment, a unit of Havas' media buying-and-planning agency MPG, is developing a partnership with a cable TV network on a category-specific series for International Truck and Engine, an operating company of Navistar International Corp., based in Warrenville, Ill. | Tom Hanks will star in the adaptation of Michael Gates Gill’s upcoming novel “How Starbucks Saved My Life.” Universal Pictures bought the book proposal for Mr. Hanks to star in and Gus Vant Sant to direct. Penguin’s Gotham Books will publish the memoir about the former J. Walter Thompson exec who, in his 60s, found himself down on his luck but was given a new purpose in life when he entered a Starbucks and walked out with a job offer.
