NBC Entertainment has promoted Greg Downey to the newly created position of vice president of network and branded entertainment business affairs. Mr. Downey, formerly director of business affairs for NBC Entertainment, will handle business affairs for both NBC and NBC Universal’s cable channels. He reports to Beth Roberts, executive vice president for business affairs for the NBC Universal Entertainment and Cable Entertainment divisions. Mr. Downey’s experience includes working for the United States Olympic Committee from 1997 to 2003, as director of business development, entertainment properties, as well as senior manager for marketing. While there he helped create the USOC’s entertainment division, developed entertainment properties and arranged corporate sponsorships. | The World Poker Tour and the Travel Channel have agreed to allow poker players to wear their sponsor logos in both preliminary rounds and final tables of the TV series. The cable network said the deal would “solidify our relationship with players and help foster a climate in which mainstream sponsorship of poker players will become a reality.”
