20th Century Fox’s action film The Transporter 2, in which the lead character spends much of his time behind the wheel of a brand-new Audi A8 W12 Quattro, broke box-office records over the Labor Day holiday weekend, earning $20.3 million. In addition to prominent placement in the film, Audi’s sedan also appears on the film’s poster and in trailers; its on-screen presence is highlighted on the micro-site transporter2-audi.com. The company’s new A3 is also in the film. Propaganda Entertainment Marketing handled the deal for Audi. In 2002, the first Transporter had its driver piloting a BMW 7-series. But that film earned $25 million throughout its entire release in the U.S. | Mobile virtual network operator Amp'd Mobile has signed with the William Morris Agency to secure strategic and marketing partnerships, as well as content deals in entertainment, music, sports, lifestyle and publishing. Amp'd Mobile is expected to launch later this year using Verizon Wireless' network and will target 18- to 35-year-olds.
