Amazon.com made its foray into filmmaking Nov. 9, launching the first of five short films it produced with Publicis Groupe's Fallon Worldwide that will appear on the Amazon Theater section of the retailer's Web site. The four- to seven-minute films feature celebs such as Minnie Driver, Daryl Hannah, Chris Noth and Blair Underwood and were shot by Ridley and Tony Scott’s production shop RSA, who also worked on BMW's "The Hire" series, also a Fallon project. | Fox 2000 is moving forward with plans to adapt Lauren Weisberger's brand-filled book The Devil Wears Prada, hiring writer-director David Frankel (HBO’s Band of Brothers) to direct the film. The book is an insider's look at the Manhattan fashion magazine publishing business.
