Making Her Mark

By Published on .

Name: Karen Baker

Age: 47

Who she is: Tattoo DDB Group Director of Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Chicago

Where she's from: Baker is a 16-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry. Prior to joining DDB in 1998, she founded and operated Integrated Marketing International.

%%PULLQUOTE_RIGHT%% What she's done: Her current integrated marketing program for client Unilever Degree with Ironman Properties is her shining moment. "I've never been involved in any program that has been so integrated in terms of all of the platforms and channels we're leveraging." In 2000, at the tail end of the dot-com frenzy, she integrated MVP.com into the 45-minute IMAX film, "Michael Jordan to the Max".

What's next: For 2004, she is looking at potential programs for other Unilever brands beyond Degree.

Stock in Trade: "Whatever property a brand aligns itself with must be carefully chosen because, like a tattoo, it leaves an indelible mark."
