GE Considers Joint Dow Jones Bid
The Financial Times reports on its parent company Pearson's possibly quixotic quest to get General Electric to help it buy Dow Jones and thus keep The Wall Street Journal out of Rupert Murdoch's hands. One of the options under discussion between GE, which owns CNBC, and Pearson is a joint venture that could include Dow Jones' controlling Bancroft family as minority partners. One family member said GE and Pearson would "mesh better" journalistically with Dow Jones and the Journal than Mr. Murdoch's News Corp.
