Both The New Yorker and The New York Times have lengthy articles out today on Rupert Murdoch and his quest to own The Wall Street Journal. The Times deployed four journalists to examine just how Mr. Murdoch had used his various media outlets to further his business interests, and when that involved exerting political influence. Meanwhile The New Yorker's media writer, Ken Auletta, looks at what kind of journalism The Journal might do under Mr. Murdoch's control.
