The Wall Street Journal reports that its parent company, Dow Jones, and News Corp. were on the brink of agreeing late yesterday to editorial protections for Dow Jones, an accord that would pave the way for the company's sale to Rupert Murdoch's media conglomerate for about $5 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
