Sirius, XM Schedule Nov. 13 Holder Votes On Merger
Dow Jones reports that shareholders of Sirius Satellite and XM Satellite Radio Holdings are slated to vote Nov. 13 on their companies' proposed merger. The vote date, disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing late Wednesday, marks a milestone in the deal announced in February to combine the country's only satellite-radio operators. The deal has faced skepticism from some lawmakers and regulators as well as the broadcast radio industry. Sirius and XM have pointed to support for the merger combination from consumer groups and rural and minority media companies. (Link via CNNMoney.com.)
