Warner Bros. Characters Get Web Portal
The Wall Street Journal reports that Bugs Bunny, Batman and Scooby Doo all will be featured together this spring on a single interactive internet portal, T-Works, for "Toon Works." The Warner Bros. site is expected to go live in April. Warner Bros.' animated divisions include Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera and DC Comics. It is the latest effort by a major Hollywood studio to control distribution of its content while simultaneously playing catch-up to established social-networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook and virtual worlds such as Second Life.
