Steve Sternberg dethrones Stacey Lynn Koerner in this year's Media Talk survey prepared for Advertising Age by Delahaye Media-link, Norwalk, Conn.

The survey ranks leading media players' mentions in a number of media outlets in the year leading up to the Media Mavens Special Report.

Mr. Sternberg, exec VP-director of audience analysis at Interpublic Group of Cos.' Magna Global USA, garnered a score of 235, up 35% from last year when he placed second to Ms. Koerner, exec VP-director of global research integration at Interpublic's Initiative. While Ms. Koerner's score of 228 was up 3.2% from last year, it only earned her a third place. Media Talk newcomer Brad Adgate, senior VP-director of research at Horizon Media, was No. 2 with a score of 231. Overall, media executives are more loquacious, with the total score for the top 10 up 32.7% from last year.

Methodology: Delahaye Medialink Research's system for measuring new media coverage was used to analyze the frequency and quality of appearances of 67 top media professionals whose names were supplied by Advertising Age. The survey measured a variety of media outlets. Greater weight was applied to media capable of greater reach, such as TV. Delahaye Medialink (delahaye.com) combines research techniques, technology and insight to help companies understand and improve their reputations and plan and evaluate their communications programs. It is based in Norwalk, Conn.
