What a great year it's been for Alan Cohen. In April, he was named U.S. CEO of Omnicom Group's OMD. Now he's hit the top five in Advertising Age's annual MediaTalk survey.

Mr. Cohen can decide which is the bigger honor.

MediaTalk, conducted by media researcher Cision, tracks the most oft-quoted leaders among agencies' media units. Mr. Cohen is No. 5 on the 2008 MediaTalk hit parade. He moved to OMD from Interpublic Group of Cos.' Initiative, where he was an important force in the resurgence of the Western region. His mentions in the media included a spot among Ad Age's 2007 Media Mavens.

Elsewhere on the MediaTalk list, Horizon Media's Brad Adgate kept his grip on the top spot, while Rino Scanzoni, of WPP's Group M, joined his boss, Irwin Gotlieb, among the top 10.

Methodology
Cision searched for the appearance of more than 100 leading media executives whose names were supplied by Advertising Age. The rankings are based on appearance in selected newspapers, business and trade publications, network TV, and representative internet coverage from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008. Cision also factored in the overall prominence of the coverage, a new feature in this year's analysis.
