Ms. Desmond last October was promoted to CEO of Starcom MediaVest Americas. Mr. Tucker, an "impeccable client service guy," according to the executive, has most recently been president of client services and agency operations, a role in which he oversaw most of MediaVest's 20-plus accounts.
As CEO Mr. Tucker, 47, will focus on expanding MediaVest's operations and expertise in digital media. He will report to Ms. Desmond.
Mr. Tucker joined MediaVest in 1997 from now-defunct agency N.W. Ayer, where he was media director, to become exec VP-director, leading Procter & Gamble Co.'s planning business at the agency. Mr. Tucker has also held the titles exec VP-director of client services and exec VP-director of Kraft from 2001-2004 (he was instrumental in helping the agency land the global Kraft Foods business in 2001). More recently, he was part of the team that reeled in media buying and planning for fast-food chain Wendy's International.
