This being Conde Nast, the immediate rumor was that Mr. Krebs, whose last day is Friday, had suffered a falling out with his boss, Conde Nast Media Group President Richard Beckman. "Not at all," Mr. Krebs countered today. "Quite the opposite. I respect Richard and have truly enjoyed my time working with him. But I am ready to look into something more entrepreneurial, and I will be doing that shortly."
Mr. Beckman hired Mr. Krebs to lead his group's online team in December 2005. Mr. Krebs arrived from The New York Times, where he had been VP-sales and marketing for the Times' website.
Ms. Howard is returning to the media group, effective in January, after nine months as publisher of Style.com and Men.style.com. Previously she was executive director of corporate sales in the Conde Nast Media Group. Conde has not yet identified her successor.
