She joins as senior VP-ad sales at the syndication giant and will report to Bob Cesa, exec VP-ad sales at the News Corp. unit. Mr. Cesa also oversees sales at News Corp.'s latest broadcast venture, My Network TV, and at satellite company DirecTV.

Ms. Herbst-Brady announced she was leaving Chicago-based Starcom, where she was senior VP-director of broadcast investment, in April, just two weeks before the start of the TV ad market, to move back to New York with her family.

She previously worked at Twentieth from 1993-1996.

Separately, Mr. Cesa named Dave Barrington as senior VP-general sales manager, advertising sales, of My Network TV, which launches Sept. 5. The move is an internal promotion; Mr. Barrington was senior VP-ad sales at Twentieth Television, which houses programming such as "Geraldo at Large" and "Judge Alex."
