NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' Universal McCann has named former Media Kitchen executive Graeme Hutton as senior VP-director of consumer insights and research for the U.S.

Mr. Hutton, who will report to U.S. President Mary Gerzema, will be responsible for overseeing the applications of syndicated and proprietary research and planning tools into UM's client work.

Prior to joining Media Kitchen, where he was integrated communications director, Mr. Hutton worked on Zenith Optimedia's Hewlett-Packard account. He also did a stint at what was then called Lowe Lintas & Partners, working on Johnson & Johnson, among other clients

Mr. Hutton is the latest in a series of personnel additions at UM, as Ms. Gerzema and Worldwide CEO Nick Brien work to improve the struggling media network's research and planning capabilities.
