Martha Stewart Living Broadcasting Unit Gains Two New Execs

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia President-CEO Susan Lyne is raiding her former employer, hiring two senior executives -- Richard Claflin and Jill Boulet-Gercourt -- from ABC to bulk up MSLO's broadcasting unit.

Increased slate of original content
Mr. Clafin, formerly VP-comedy series development at ABC, will lead development of an increased slate of original production at MSLO. At ABC he helped create sitcoms "Hope and Faith," "George Lopez" and "Eight Simple Rules." Before ABC, he developed a number of NBC shows, including "West Wing," and worked in the made-for-TV movie division at Fox.

Ms. Boulet-Gercourt is joining MSLO to oversee all marketing, promotion and creative services in the company's TV segment as VP-marketing, broadcasting. At ABC, she served as director of synergy, developing integrated-marketing strategies for both ABC and Walt Disney Co. after the two companies merged.

Major ad blitz
Ms. Boulet-Gercourt is being enlisted to help create a major advertising blitz to promote various Martha Stewart properties, including Ms. Stewart's Sirius Radio show and the PBS cooking series "Everyday Food." In addition, Ms. Boulet-Gercourt will work to expand the company's activities in the broadband arena.
