Who's making that media racket? This year it's Brad Adgate, who again clinches the No. 1 spot as most-quoted media executive in Ad Age's annual MediaTalk survey, conducted by media researcher Cision. The senior VP-research at indie shop Horizon Media has gotten ink everywhere from Entertainment Weekly to The Columbus Dispatch.

Close behind are Carat's Shari Anne Brill and Initiative's Tim Spengler, who came in second and third, respectively. Up to No. 5 from No. 9 last year is Tim Hanlon from Publicis Groupe's Denuo, reflecting a spate of stories on new digital formats.

Media researcher Cision, formerly Delahaye, searched more than 100 names of leading media executives supplied by Advertising Age from July 1, 2006, though June 30, 2007. Results are based on impressions generated by coverage of each executive in various media. Each media mention is weighted for its prominence in the article. News sources included newspapers, web, wire, broadcast and trade publications.
