William Li Tapped for Portfolio

Conde Nast Moves Continue as Men's Vogue Publisher Shifts to Business Monthly

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- William Li has been named publisher of Conde Nast Portfolio, reporting to David Carey, president of the Conde Nast business group and the de facto launch publisher of the magazine. Mr. Li has been publisher of Men's Vogue since October 2005.

The move underscores the new breadth of Mr. Carey's responsibilities, a week after the company handed him oversight of Conde Nast's golf magazines and Wired in a surprise shake-up. With Mr. Li taking over the day-to-day publishing duties at Portfolio, the costly and risky business start-up, Mr. Carey will have more freedom to pursue broader initiatives.

"We're going to be looking for the ways to bring great solutions to our advertisers across these Golf and Wired and Portfolio brands and to find ways to tap the great knowledge base that we have in the association," Mr. Carey said today.

Neither Mr. Li's successor at Men's Vogue nor the actual timing of his move have been determined.
