Other women who made the most beautiful list include Reese Witherspoon, Keira Knightly, Lindsay Lohan and Eva Longoria. The world's most beautiful men include George Clooney, Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal and Antonio Banderas. Strangely, People captions the photos of the world's most beautiful with a face-reader's description of their personalities based on their facial features. For example, Reese's broad and high forehead "signifies imagination and creativity," while the knob on the end of Antonio's nose indicates that he is someone who "likes to be surrounded by beauty and beautiful things." Who knew?
Beyond beauty, Watercooler is fascinated this week by the tabloids' first stab at what is sure to be cast as an ongoing, good old-fashioned catfight. Us Weekly explains it all in its cover story headline: "Denise Steals Heather's Husband." Denise Richards has taken up with Richie Sambora, the ex husband of best friend Heather Locklear. "Betrayal!" scolds the cover of Life & Style. That should banish the Paris/Nicole/Lindsay storyline for a while.
Heather and Denise have been friends since 2001, when Ms. Locklear starred on the sitcom "Spin City" with Denise's ex, Charlie Sheen. In Touch describes the women as "fast friends" who "shared secrets" and "celebrated life's milestones together."
Heather is portrayed as supporting Denise when, at seven months pregnant, she first filed for divorce from Sheen. Although Denise and Charlie temporarily reconciled, the pair are now divorcing. This week Denise filed for a restraining order against her ex, claiming Charlie threatened her. She accuses Charlie of gambling and drug addiction, along with an obsession with porn and prostitutes. In Touch claims that as Charlie and Denise's tumultuous relationship fell apart, "Heather acted as her shoulder to cry on yet again."
In return for being a good friend, Life & Style claims Heather was "stabbed in the back" by Denise. The Locklear/Sambora union of 11 years was headed for divorce as a result of Heather's suspicion of the Bon Jovi guitarist's alleged infidelity. In Touch quotes "an insider," saying "She [Denise] was the one who told Heather to file for divorce." Photos of Denise and Sambora in Us Weekly suggest Ms. Richards' advice may have had selfish inspiration. The photos show Denise and Sambora holding hands on the beach and canoodling on a balcony in Laguna Beach. Us Weekly quotes an onlooker who claims "They were a 100 percent genuine couple." Heather has not commented to the tabs. Us Weekly suggests that she is not as upset as she might be because she has been dating David Spade since March.
We can hardly wait for next week's installment of this sudsy tale. We have so many questions. Will Heather take the high road? Will Denise and Richie's relationship affect the Richards/Sheen divorce proceedings? But what Watercooler is really dying to know is how Richie Sambora, who most assuredly did not make People's Most Beautiful List, has girls as gorgeous as Heather and Denise squabbling over him.
