The Weather Channel is well known for its coverage of bad weather, thanks to its "Storm Stories" series, but the cable channel is now ready to offer sunnier fare. On Aug. 28, "The Weather Channel Road Crew" makes its debut. The live two-minute segment will focus on attendees of outdoor events, such as tailgate parties, concerts and festivals, and will highlight how weather-good or bad-impacts those events. The show will kick off with a visit to Ozzfest in West Palm Beach, Fla., to check in with Ozzy Osbourne fans, as well as a stop at a University of Tennesee's football game. The more positive approach to weather interested Ford Motor Co., which signed on as exclusive sponsor. Ford's trucks, including the new 2004 F-150, will be featured, as host Kelsa Kinsly will be pictured in and around the vehicles. Ford will also get a sponsored billboard at the start of each segment and a 30-second spot at the end. Ford involvement starts on Oct. 2. Three segments per week will run during the "Evening Edition" program, which airs from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., and "Weekend Planner," which airs 7 p. m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
