The Buzz

Ever the maverick marketers, teen-targeted music network Fuse is unleashing a series of outdoor, print and online ads in New York that borrow liberally from TBWA/Chiat/Day's groundbreaking print work for Apple's iPod. The work, created by independent startup Amalgamated, New York, show viewers silhouetted against acid color backdrop. These people aren't busy jiving to tunes, however; they're in front of TV screen engaged in a series of naughty activities such as drinking from a beer bong, pole dancing, masturbating and, how to put this delicately, ummm, lighting their bodily gases from behind. Buzz is pleased to break the news that the silhouette in the `gas' ad now decorating local buses is none other than Amalgamated managing partner Charles Rosen, and the person lighting the gas? His intern. "We're going to be doing edgier executions in alternative magazines like Fader and Blender." The Buzz wonders how much edgier than masturbation one can get. "The next stage," he responds. Well, OK then.
