Crain Communications Promotes Christopher Crain

Moves to Group Publisher of four Titles from VP-Associate Publisher, Ad Age Group

NEW YORK ( -- Christopher Crain, 33, has been appointed group publisher of several Crain publications including Pensions & Investments, Business Insurance, Workforce Magazine and the recently acquired Staffing Industry Analysts group. Mr. Crain will also continue to oversee Crain's Manchester Business, a publication he started in December 2007.

"I am thrilled to see the next generation of the Crain family assume a leadership position in our company," said Rance Crain, president of Crain Communications. With his new responsibilities, Chris Crain will report to his uncle, Rance.

The promotion was triggered by the recent retirement of Bill Bisson, who served Crain Communications for more than 30 years.

Chris Crain was previously associate publisher of Advertising Age, with broad responsibilities that included management of Ad Age Group's Creativity Magazine and responsibility for the continuing development of new vertical online communities for the Ad Age Group.

Since 2005, Chris Crain had been associate publisher at Crain's Detroit Business. He also helped launch the company's newest publication, Crain's Manchester Business, in the U.K. in 2007
