Mini work lauded
Crispin collected three nominations for campaigns promoting Mini Cooper (though Mini is no longer a client), one for its Virgin Atlantic Airways ads and one for Bell Helmets work. Carmichael Lynch received two nominations for its Porsche creative and also picked up nominations for its work on behalf of Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Harley Davidson Parts and Accessories and Harley Davidson Motorclothes.
The nominations were announced during the 10th annual New York Magazine Day, held by The Advertising Club and Magazine Publishers of America, which turned out to be so heavily attended that several sessions couldn't accommodate the number of people who wanted to get in.
American Legacy work
Crispin actually collected another three nominations in two newly created specific categories; its Mini work is up for Best Integrated Campaign, while it and Arnold Worldwide each got two Public Service Campaign nominations for their American Legacy Foundation work.
Among other agencies, BBDO, New York, and Wieden & Kennedy both notched three nominations; BBH, New York, and Leo Burnett USA, Chicago, each got two. And in a potentially encouraging sign for American culture, only one nominated campaign used celebrities ( Ogilvy & Mather's "My Life. My Card" ads for American Express).
Winners will be named June 14 in New York at the 25th annual Kelly Awards presentation.
