DENNIS PUBLISHING TO LAUNCH PRODUCTION COMPANY

To Develop Projects Based on 'Maxim,' 'Blender'

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Dennis Publishing is launching a division called Moving Pictures DPI to develop TV, movie, DVD and radio productions based on the publisher's magazine titles.

Dennis magazines include men's titles Maxim, Stuff and Blender and newsweekly The Week.

Peter Jaysen, a partner at Creative Light Entertainment in Beverly Hills, Calif., will run the unit.

The company hopes to eventually spin off the unit as an independent production company, according to an executive with knowledge. It will also create projects through the publisher's first-look deal relationship with New Line Cinema, part of Time Warner.
