Sean "Diddy" Combs may be shooting for crazy, but did he nail it?
In Time Warner's latest "Enjoy Better" spot, Mr. Combs promotes his new Revolt music network with an over-the-top living-room pitch; flash to a piano on fire, graffiti laden streets and Diddy smashing a violin.
"This right here -- cray cray," Mr. Combs says, noting Revolt on Time Warner Cable will be available anytime, anywhere and on any screen.
Revolt will bow on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET in about 25 million Time Warner Cable and Comcast households. (The video is labeled "Exclusively on Time Warner Cable" because it will run on TV only in Time Warner Cable markets, where consumers don't have access to Comcast.)
In an interview last month, Mr. Combs described Revolt as more than a TV network, but a music brand for fans and by fans that's inherently social. Despite MTV's shift away from music and the Fuse music network's struggles, Mr. Combs is hoping Revolt can be for music what ESPN is for sports.
