Eminem's music publisher, Eight Mile Style, has settled its lawsuit against Audi. The automaker had aired commercials for its A6 Avant in Europe containing the same song, "Lose Yourself," featured in Chrysler's "Imported From Detroit" Super Bowl spot. The case was settled out of court, though Audi has agreed to make charitable donations to efforts in Detroit as part of its settlement.

An Audi spokesperson had no additional comment when reached by Ad Age . Eight Mile Style added in a statement, "Eight Mile is very pleased that this dispute could be settled quickly and amicably. Eight Mile is very impressed by Audi's openness to discuss and reach consensus on the issues involved."

Chrysler, which was not a party of the Eight Mile Style suit, had no comment when reached by Ad Age , but company spokesman Gualberto Ranieri had told Ad Age sibling publication Automotive News in May: "Apparently someone believes that the definition of copyright laws is the right to copy other's materials ... including world-renowned successes created by Chrysler Group's brands."

The Audi ad was unveiled at a May 18 press event for the A6 Avant in Berlin, and received more than 70,000 views before the lawsuit was filed. Audi has no plans to sell the car in the U.S., an Audi spokesman noted at the time.
