The Media Guy is very busy hanging his ornaments and baking cookies that he isn't able to weigh in on the Christmas edition of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke, but someone had to do it, so we will.
The all-star edition of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is enough to make a hard-bitten newsroom tear up with joy -- well, nearly. The infectious rendition and (spoiler alert!) stream of guest passengers warbling what has become a modern Christmas anthem is lighting up the internet with 893,965 YouTube views and counting. It's got 1,700 likes on Twitter and 6,200 Facebook so far. It begins with Mr. Corden and Ms. Carey -- displaying her own gifts in her trademark daring decolletage -- in a car laden with gaily wrapped presents singing the tune.
It then cuts to an eye-popping roster of singing superstars -- Demi Lovato, Adele, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Chris Martin, Gwen Stefani, Elton John, Lady Gaga and the Red Hot Chili Peppers -- chiming in to form their own celestial chorus.
Coming at a time when there has been a lot of division in this country, the effect is well, divine. God bless James Corden, everyone.
