Hulu Becomes a Channel on Cablevision

Will Fill Channel 605 on Set-Top Boxes

By Published on .

Hulu is becoming a channel on Cablevision.

The cable operator will make Hulu available on its Optimum TV programming guide on all current-generation set-top boxes.

This makes Cablevision the first cable operator provider to give Hulu a dedicated channel. This essentially makes Hulu similar to other pay-TV channels like HBO and Showtime.

Hulu will be available on channel 605.

"As Hulu's first cable distribution partner, Optimum is pleased to also be the first provider to offer the unique ability to access Hulu directly from the program guide," said Tom Montemagno, Cablevision's executive vice president of programming. "This new delivery of Hulu, facilitated by ActiveVideo cloud technology, provides Optimum customers with a truly unparalleled experience when accessing their cable and Hulu subscriptions from their television."

Those who already have a Hulu subscription can access the service by turning to the channel and signing in to their account.
