NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Advertising Age will present its annual Magazine A-List during the opening reception of the American Magazine Conference this Sunday in Chicago.
Each year the Magazine A-List honors 10 titles that stand out above the rest, whether they're reaping the benefits of a strategic shift, making a comeback from a stiff challenge or simply continuing to set an example for the rest of the industry. They aren't necessarily the magazines with the biggest paid circulations, newsstand sales or ad pages, but they're innovators, survivors and leaders that keep catching our eyes.
Last year Ad Age named Women's Health its Magazine of the Year, topping a Magazine A-List that also included newsstand monsters People and Cosmopolitan; powerhouses Family Circle and Better Homes and Gardens; rising stars The Economist and The Week; brilliant niche player Backpacker; and National Geographic, a massive, venerable magazine rapidly mastering new media.
If you're attending the American Magazine Conference, a production of the Magazine Publishers of America and the American Society of Magazine Editors, come to the opening reception on Sunday to see who made the Magazine A-List this year.
