The most violent thing about Warner Bros.' "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" may be the beating it's catching from the critics, but that hasn't stopped the movie from landing in the Top 10 its first weekend out. That might not seem like much for a much-anticipated tent-pole movie with a massive marketing budget, but the BoxOfficeMojo.com chart below is actually a tally of year-to-date receipts. So that means the movie is going gangbusters right out of the gate.

Whether that continues remains to be seen.
