The Media Chart is a weekly look at what's topping the rankings and the ratings.

While the NFL season didn't officially kick off until last night, that doesn't mean football didn't make its presence felt in last week's TV ratings. We're not exactly sure that the NCAA's opening weekend lived up to ABC/ESPN's hyping it as the best opening weekend ever, but it wasn't too shabby. The Sunday night Notre Dame vs. Texas game on ABC landed the No. 2 spot on broadcast, splitting the America's Got Talent uprights at No. 1 and No. 3. Alabama's brutalization of USC landed at No. 6 on broadcast. And Auburn giving Clemson a closer game than expected notched the No. 5 spot on cable.
