NBC will air some live commercials during its broadcast of "Hairspray Live" the musical on Wednesday night.
Oreo and Toyota will be featured in live commercials that harken back to the 60s era during the program.
Following a musical number featuring Corny Collins, played by Derek Hough, Mr. Hough will remain on stage in character and play homage to Oreo cookies in the style of traditional ads of the decade. Oreo cookies will also be included in scenes of the musical.
Toyota will feature the 2017 Corolla in a live commercial that is reminiscent of a 1960s-era car ad, which will sit alongside a vintage model that celebrates Corolla's 50th anniversary.
Reddi-wip will also air a spot that features a musical number choreographed by "Hairspray Live" team and includes crew and cast members. The commercial is inspired by Reddi-wip's history of being delivered door-to-door by milkmen. Reddi-wip is creating a modern-day version of its traveling "Milkman" that will make a cameo appearance in the live program.
During two commercial breaks, viewers will see behind-the-scenes content run next to traditional commercials via split-screen.
