Once again, Walt Disney is showing just how much force its own brands have in promoting "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
New footage from the film debuted during ABC's broadcast of the "American Music Awards" on Sunday night.
That was followed by a surprise on-stage appearance from Harrison Ford, who introduced an a capella rendition of iconic songs from John Williams' "Star Wars" scores by Pentatonix. (It was a capalla-ish, anyway: the group, appropriately clad in costumes inspired by the films, was joined by a full symphony orchestra.)
Walt Disney has been weaving "Star Wars" content and experiences throughout its vast media portfolio. The third trailer debuted during "Monday Night Football" on ESPN and Shonda Rhimes introduced new footage during ABC's "TGIT" lineup earlier in the month.
