Ms. Herbst-Brady, who is the chief broadcast negotiator for clients such as Best Buy, AllState, Kellogg and WalGreens, is stepping down from the Chicago office just two weeks before the broadcast network upfront presentations in order to move back to New York with her family.
The company made the surprise announcement this afternoon. While Ms. Herbst-Brady isn't departing Starcom just yet, she is likely to be looking for a new role soon and recommended she not lead the TV ad buying negotiations for her agency. Her boss, Starcom CEO John Muszynski, will take over.
Ms. Herbst-Brady, senior VP-director of broadcast, said: "I would say my experience at Starcom has been the highlight of my career, and I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to many more years of partnership on whichever side of the fence."
Mr. Muszynski said, "Elizabeth has been completely transparent and honorable in her dealings with our company. She has always been a valued partner, and will be in the future. We thank her for the contributions she has made and will continue to make before she returns home."
