Mr. Gutfeld will remain with the company in the newly created position of director of brand development, according to a company spokesman. A statement issued by Dennis indicated that Mr. Gutfeld will be involved in Stuff's TV ventures, including Viacom's Spike TV.
More changes expected
More executive changes are expected at Dennis next week, the spokesman said.
Under Mr. Gutfeld's three-year tenure as editor, Stuff's rate base grew to 1.2 million. Both he and Mr. Hammer will report to Stuff general manager Mark MacDonald.
Mr. Hammer's position at Maxim will be filled by Greg Williams, formerly editor of Arena in London and Maxim Fashion, a semi-annual Dennis publication. Most recently, Mr. Williams was editor in chief of the upcoming Maxim Goes to the Movies magazine, a one-off test issue that appears on newstands May 13.
