TIME INC. NAMES MANAGING EDITOR AT 'PEOPLE'

'In Style' Editor Martha Nelson Replaces Martha Wallace

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- AOL Time Warner's Time Inc. today named a new managing editor at People effective April 1.

Martha Nelson replaces Carol Wallace, 52, who will become an editor-at-large at the company and consult on international projects.

has been managing editor of In Style since its launch in 1994 and was previously an assistant managing editor at People; Ms. Wallace has held her position at People since April 1997. Ms. Nelson will be replaced at In Style by its executive editor, Charla Lawhon, 45.

The weekly, with a circulation of 3.7 million, generates more profits for Time Inc. than any other single title.

Earlier this month, Time Inc. replaced another key top editor, bringing in Us Weekly editor in chief Terry McDonell to replace Bill Colson at Sports Illustrated.
