'Interactive Week,' 'Smart Partner' Latest Magazine Victims

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Troubled tech publisher Ziff Davis Media today shuttered two trade titles, Interactive Week and Smart Partner.

Interactive Week will be folded into eWeek, which, beginning with its Dec. 4 issue, will carry an Interactive Week-branded section.

at the New York-based titles are expected to affect the jobs of about 75 staffers, although not that of Interactive Week editor in chief Rob Fixmer, who wills stay on as an editor of eWeek, said a company spokeswoman.

Ziff Davis has been hit uniquely hard by the tech world's implosion. In its quarter that ended June 30, it posted a net loss of $49.3 million and its revenues fell 32.8% to $85.1 million.

In addition, a nasty court fight is brewing between ousted former Chairman-CEO Jim Dunning and the company's backers, Willis Stein & Partners.
