NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The Valencia Festival of Media has opened the voting for its People's Award. Between now and April 21, everyday consumers, along with media planners, strategists and managers, will be able to vote for five of the 109 shortlisted nominees in the 19 campaign categories.
The shortlist of campaign category nominees can be viewed online, along with reels from each of the nominees. The shortlist includes entries from 29 countries, as well as regional campaigns from the Americas and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The U.S. leads all other markets with 33 nominations, followed by the U.K., Canada, Germany, China and India.
Axe, Coca-Cola, Amtrak, Sony, Philips Healthcare, Honda, Adidas, American Express, Microsoft and Gatorade are among the brands nominated. The shortlist includes work from agencies including WPP's Mindshare, Interpublic Group of Cos.' Universal McCann, Havas' MPG, Aegis' Carat, Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest and Omnicom Group's OMD.
Among agencies, Starcom MediaVest racked up the most nominations, with 18. Mindshare was next, with 13, followed by WPP sister agency MediaCom, with 11, and Havas, with seven.
Consumers must register online to vote. The five most popular choices will be presented to delegates on April 21, the last day of the festival, and the winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner alongside the winners of the Jury Awards.
