Every weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new and trending TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, a company that catalogs, tags and measures activity around TV ads in real time. The New Releases here ran on TV for the first time over the weekend. The Most Engaging ads are showing sustained social heat, ranked by SpotShare scores reflecting the percent of digital activity associated with each one over the past week. See the methodology here.
Among the new releases, in his latest effort for Captial One, Samuel L. Jackson is accompanied by what appears to be the marching band from his alma mater, Morehouse College. Meanwhile, Star Wars mania is in full force, with PlayStation 4's new spot cashes in on the hype. (See the spot's long version here.)
And Microsoft Surface, the official tablet of the NFL, shows how to use its technology to plan plays, review the game and "give you an edge." Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson voices the spot.
